Lynell / Elle Marie Garfield.

Lynell lives in the high desert of northern Nevada, in the Peavine watersheds far above the Truckee River.  Lynell lives plunk in the middle of xeriscape and an urban garden with partner author Thomas Qualls and sonshine August Paxton. 

Drawing from background as a toxicologist, environmental scientist, and avid stream ecologist, teacher and new mommy, Elle takes a fresh approach to story-telling.  She hopes to inspire everyone to fall in love with their watershed. Or at least their garden and the waters closest to them.

Elle's passion for rivers and desire to share her knowledge with others  creatively led to her first childrens' book, "The Secret Life of Streams."
